About

Renana Tramachi, an Israeli artist, lives and works in Jerusalem.
Her initial training in drawing and painting began at the age of ten at the Israel Museum.
As a teenager, she studied at the Jerusalem High School of the Arts.
After her military service, she began studying in France with the French group “Cite de la Creation”.
She lived and worked in France, and learned the profession of mural painting.
After participating in the monumental murals in Israel and France, she began studying art at Beit Berl College, as well as in various courses at the Bezalel Academy of Fine Arts.

When she realized that her artistic love lay in the tradition of classical painting and the masterpieces of the past, she joined the master class at the Jerusalem Studio School – founded by the realist artist Israel Hershberg.
The studies were based on painting and drawing from life only, in the conceptual and technical methods of the Old Masters, from Europe during the Renaissance to America at the end of the 19th century.

As part of her studies at JSS, she studied at the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in Umbria, Italy, where she experienced the masterpieces of Renaissance and Baroque painters up close ,and also painted landscapes from observation throughout Italy.

Even after a formal journey of art studies, she continues her personal path of research and deepening in the world of painting in all its infinity.

Renae Tramecchi creates Jewish art in a unique way, more than trying to replicate reality, she tries to grasp its essence on a spiritual level, the characters in her paintings are alive and communicate with the viewer and he feels as if he is observing from the sidelines what is happening in their pulsating lives.

Renana’s technical mastery of oil paints combined with her skilled drawing skills allow her to independently represent what she sees or creates.

This is evident in the rich color palette, in the varied brushstrokes, sometimes very expressive and sometimes built from transparent layers of oil paints that create a complex lattice of shades.

Through these layers, light enters and reflects back, infusing the subject with real illumination. We can sense the movement and life beneath the folds of clothing and the living spark that exists even in the still details.

Her paintings are included in private collections in Israel and abroad.
